The 22GL collective has been broken apart. We must now collaborate through the miracle that is the inter-web.
We four had combined our skills to create a design collective capable of delivering solutions and entertainment on an epic scale. Individually we came from different corners of creative life: Rocky and Dan stemmed from more of a creative background in fine art: painting and illustration with a dabble here and there in sculpture, drums, guitar, photography, life drawing and both have been schooled in Product Design at Central St. Martins for the past three years (graduated). That is not to say those two are similar in anyway. Dan, home grown somewhere in the UK would kill a man if they slandered Chelsea F.C. and he also paints like a man possessed; while Rocky, from Hong Kong and somewhere in Canada that I can not remember, speaks like he is from California, and can draw any creature you can contemplate and most you can't.
Lee and I (Taylor) have come from mightily different backgrounds: Lee started out as an accountant, finding this boring, he toured the world, lived on a beach in Australia by selling his drawings, finding this most agreeable, decided that a more creative life stile was the right way to go. He also runs his own Seeding company. I seem to resort to the more technical side of things... my background is varied and ranges from mechanic to wedding entertainer to well whatever paid the best at the time, now he travels the world as a migrant worker and is currently working on not being poor and where best to pursue that endever. Currently in Hong Kong, but soon to be in San Francisco.
Our four backgrounds had set us up for remarkable possibilities, our diverse upbringing lent it self to truly creative design solutions. Our drive to continually find new things maintains our open mindedness, and keeps us out of design ruts that so many seem to get stuck in. These three, Rok - Lee - Dan and myself are the founding of 22gl... unfortunately, due to the nature of real life most of these guys are MIA and busy doing their own thing. Which is fantastic as it gives me pretty much free reign to turn this blog into a real vendetta against all that is normal and mundane.
And of course we can't forget our lovely contributors... who seem not to be contributing.... along with the rest of the team....
