Time for a change of mood. Not because I like to switch things up and keep you all on your toes but because I must admit that the celebratory previous post was written under a haze of a naive hope that perhaps the English cricket team could replicate the heroics of 2005 as our batsmen surged to an imposing 196-1 at Lords. That total has now slipped to a fairly average-looking 333-6 and once again we are capitulating.
Fortunately, music is a great healer, and, as I watched this frankly breathtaking video of Bon Iver performing 'Skinny Love' on Jools Holland, I realised that things could be worse. I could be feeling what this guy felt when he wrote this song. Or I could be a Newcastle United supporter. I've had this song on repeat for 6 months, just can't get enough of it. Would sacrifice at least a toe to see him live.
