For the purpose of this post let's put all arguements about surveillance and Big Brother Britain to one side and just examine the aesthetics of this object. If you were place such a thing on just about every street in London and a large number of towns and even villages across this fair land, you would think that you make a bit of an effort to make it look a little more pleasing to the eye. Maybe even, dare I say it, friendly.
But no, what we have is ugly boxes on sticks:
